The Dancefloor

The Dancefloor

A Poem by Tazz S.H.
"

I wrote this as I was listening to the song "Careless Whisper" by Seether, originally sung by George Michael.

"
I watch her near
the back, her eyes unsure.
Twinkling with glamorous fear.
Lashes fluttering cleanly against the
tops of her cheeks,
in the pale light of the disco ball.
Her dress flows beneath
her knees
in waves of soft, cloudy white.
Her eyes settle
on me, like a feather dropping onto a pillow.
The song comes on,
and I make my way
towards her
for a dance.

This really feels like a tango... words going forward, emotions going forward... a duel of movements, well illustrated by your words. Well done.

p.s. The original Careless Whisper by George Michael is way better than the Seether cover!
