HARD TIMES

HARD TIMES

A Story by Tasi83

Perhaps all of Richard Kitzinger's sins were that he never had a single worthwhile, true friend. The bright early September sun was shining beautifully. It's as if most children who were able to enter the upper class had at the same time acquired the right and the privilege to be treated as a mature person, and not just as some stupid, stupid, piss-stupid kid.

If Richard could have made a wish - even just one wish - in his life, he would certainly not have asked for the most modern Playstation or X-box for his birthday, but for his father and mother not to fight, because no matter how many times they started, they would have had such a big fight. around, that the house really resounded around them.

"That can't be true, Béla!" How do you imagine that you just take the child on a trip??? the very pretty, young woman, who had a sharp, sharp tongue, blurted out on several occasions and almost never hid her individual opinion.

"I think I have every right to it, my heart, after all, even my son!" - the man asked himself, who looked as if life had really crushed him in his thirties, and he would not age gradually, but suddenly!

"Don't ever think of taking him to the zoo instead of school again!" Did you understand?! - the wife put her hands on her hips, and it seemed that now she could bravely drown her frivolous, irresponsible husband in a spoonful of water.

"Now you're acting like a child, my dear!" There was no problem! Ricsi enjoyed the time spent together, even if she was deathly afraid of most animals! I don't understand what the hell is wrong with you?! Maybe I should buy him a bunny or a puppy as a present?

"I'll really leave home for you!" Do you have any idea that Ricsi used to pee at night because he is so afraid of school? And then you come with a big vest by buying him an animal! What's wrong with your brain, peanut?!

"Don't talk to me like I'm a hysterical kid too!" I'm a grown man and I do what I want! Back on topic! Did he really pee? - the father was quite surprised, as if hearing something like this for the first time. "But why the hell did it happen?"

"I don't know, but the next morning I noticed that his favorite dinosaur pajamas were full of water down there."

"Couldn't it be that you drank a little too much tea or water last night?"

- Do not mess with! And if that was the case, why didn't he come out to pee?

- I have no idea! Maybe he didn't want to bother us! You don't always say that Ricsi takes his politeness to excess since he's been watching romantic movies!

In the meantime, Ricsi entered with her schoolbag and gym bag, which always made her feel so awkward, like a fat penguin. He felt exactly what kind of gunpowder tempers were bubbling back home.

"Morning mom, dad!" he greeted.

"I made ten o'clock, my dear!" - her mother accidentally put her sandwich of the day in her gym bag a little impatiently. "Would you like some breakfast?" There's also chocolate cereal!

- No thank you! I don't want to be late!

"Where are you going honey?" After all, it will only be a quarter to eight in a few minutes. Where is the first hour!

"Would you like me to take you my son?" his father tried with a sly smile.

- No thank you! I like walking! he declared. He tried to pull himself off like he was proud of something he hadn't decided what it was yet. It was as if he bowed or nodded to his parents with his silly head, and he already walked out the front door and jumped into the elevator.

Ever since he saw the Batman cartoon on TV, he had a strong urge to wonder what the life of a superhero could be like. With super secret gadgets, a special armored car and a masked outfit? In addition, the best women just die for him, just like in the case of James Bond!

"What could be the secret?" he pondered. "I wish he could be a real hero for just one day, like a lone, determined wolf!"

When he got out of the elevator, he greeted several old, retired neighbor grandmothers, who all asked where he was going, and when no one saw him, he took Donatello out of his favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure from his school bag. Perhaps he wanted to draw courage or renewed spiritual strength from the small hardened plastic figure. Today, you can expect the bigger boys to take your pocket money and, as a special bonus, beat you up a lot.

Exceptionally, he did not cross the zebra crossing, because he found the smaller, freshly mowed path, which lay directly on the edge of the car parks, to be faster and more efficient. He looked around carefully before crossing the road. First left then right. It was all just one lightning fast moment. Out of nowhere, at least 80 people were hit by a car, and his chubby, chubby body was filled almost immediately, so that Ricsi regularly flew into the sky as if he had grown wings. Then, at high speed, he fell straight back onto the windshield, which shattered into spider webs as a result of the impact. It was all like a dream. He once saw a scientific documentary on an educational channel where people who had near-death experiences were interviewed.

"What altar nonsense is all this!" - he could think as a man wearing some green clothes and a mask under his chubby body put the stretcher into the screeching ambulance. Then only the great nothingness and darkness was felt...

Richard's parents both went to work. The mother was an administrator in a comfortable, spacious office, while the father worked for an insurance company, which every year he flattered his employees with sweet-sounding but empty promises that if they were goal-oriented and worked harder, the sure time for their promotion was approaching. But in fact, after a while, almost everyone became suspicious that those who performed their duties properly and with integrity were almost never promoted! Isn't this all interesting?

Ricsi had internal bleeding and a splinter fracture and severe blood loss in one of his legs, leading to the possibility of amputation, and it was expected that his right leg would have to be amputated from the knee. Even so, the doctors, with strained work ethic, continued a heroic struggle with the nearly eight-hour surgical intervention in order to save his life.

He remembered that a thin, scrawny operating boy would carry him into one of the slightly run-down wards, lay him carefully on the bed, and then slap him on the face to make sure he regained consciousness.

"Hey!" Wake up little guy! You've had enough sleep today! he said to her.

"Where… where am I…?" - he asked weakly, but by then the operating room boy had drifted off.

"Welcome to hell's kitchen, little fellow." This is a ward! - remarked with a grin a sixteen-year-old-looking adult boy whose leg was bound in a plaster cast, and it seemed that at least six months of intensive bed rest were waiting for him, until his bones fused together properly.

It is not known whether Ricsi was due to fear or the disappointing and upsetting effect of being alone for a long time, but he began vomiting and retching and successfully choked on the IV tube tied to his chubby wrist.

- Sister! A mop wouldn't hurt! the former teenager called out to himself.

An unfriendly, stern-faced matron galloped into the ward with a mop, and it looked like she would rather kill with her sparkling eyes:

"So what's going on here?" his voice snapped like a whip. "What did you do?" - measured the young boy lying in the vomit, who was scared to death by the nurse's sharp, merciless gaze.

"Look man!" " he slapped the washcloth on the floor with listless annoyance and began to wipe away the vomit, then when he was done he tried to fix the infusion tube as well. Another stern look: "If you don't behave properly, you'll regret it, kid!" - he stormed out of the room with that.

Ricsin probably had a concussion, which is why his body responded with persistent nausea and nausea. It could also have been a normal Pavlovian reflex.

"Don't pull on him, little friend!" No problem! Sister Ursula is tough as a rock, but her heart is made of butter! It's not such a bad place! If you think so, I'll show you around in a homely way! remarked the grinning teenager.

Since the parents were at work and since Ricsi did not go to school, some of Ricsi's classmates started to worry about him and asked the headmaster to tell his parents what was going on with him. The class teacher called both parents, who started running home, leaving their work behind, and informed everyone that where could a little boy have gone?

The choice was given by the little girl next door, who - as it turned out later - saw some paramedics in a car with a siren a few blocks away, who were taking a little boy to the hospital.

"My little flower!" Maybe you couldn't tell me which hospital it was?! they asked the little girl in turn, but she shook her head no. So the Kitzinger parents had no choice but to go through all the hospitals and it was already late in the evening when they received information from the János hospital's accident department that the boy was involved in a car accident, underwent surgery, and is doing well considering the circumstances.

"It's also because of you, David!"

"Of course, things always happen because of me!" Not true?! What will you come up with next honey?!

"Don't put that crap on me!" You were the one who insisted that Ricsi should be independent and now he is in the hospital!

They asked a nurse to tell them the number of the ward where the boys were lying, and then they both stormed into the ward, where the little boy was now peacefully trying to relieve the persistent symptoms of fear of death with varying success. When he opened his eyes and saw his parents together again, a stomach-churning terror took hold of him. "Now they're going to fight again!" Everything can start over!” he might have thought.

"Hello my treasure!" How do you feel? - the mother asked worriedly, kindly first. He placed a kiss on his little boy's forehead and tenderly stroked his panting hair.

"To ask such nonsense, my dear!" How do you think someone who had a car accident and was lucky enough to escape with only a skin?! - exclaimed the father with cynical irony.

- David! Don't start again! warned the nervous mother. "The important thing is that everything will be alright!"

"If you say so for sure!" You're a good kid! Now the girls will stick to you! Just show them your legs! - the father fell down on one of the chairs, but he immediately changed his mind, because his wife stared at him with hostile eyes.

"It'll be alright honey!" Mommy will stay with you as long as necessary! - he took his son's chubby hands and seemed to mean what he said.

"Mom... Please don't fight..." Ricsi said in a tired, lifeless voice.

In the air, extremely tense, stressful emotions strained against each other and threatened to explode, but Ricsi's tired and pained voice made both parents think hard and maybe made them reconsider their relationship on shaky legs.
