Happy Soul

Happy Soul

A Story by Tasha

The man looked at his family. They were all gathered in the living room looking at family albums and laughing. They had finally gotten over that difficult time in their lives. Sure, it had taken a couple of years, but here they were talking amongst themselves joyously. The man knew that that horrific day would always lurk at the back of their minds. They wouldn't forget it, but they no longer lived in the past. They lived for the future and looked up. That was all he wanted them to do. He smiled as they looked at a picture of him and he could see them thinking about the happy memories they had shared with him. He was satisfied that his family was once again happy. He waved a final goodbye, then let the wind from the open window carry him up to the great beyond.
