Your opening line feels a little shocking to me. You refer to physical abuse so nonchalantly, like it happens in every relationship. This is before you get to the part where loved ones can hurt you the most, which is a powerful & truthful statement. It seems like the narrator of this message has written herself off. As soon as we give ourselves a “name” (such a sucker for love), we tend to live up to (or down to) that name. Your poem makes me wonder what is the reward for playing the victim? There must be some reward or people decide to change their behavior to get better results. Your writing is very powerful & true for many people, but it’s sad to see this accepted as “the way it goes”! *sigh!* Fondly, Margie
You are right Natasha. Love teaches us happiness and can teach us great sadness. I liked your poem. You made the reader feel the pain. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

We who love so strong tend to be hurt because we put our heart out there and it gets broken... Then we can be bad to if we hurt someone we love, so this course of pain can be a circle of hurt... Thanks for sharing
I read in this a description of one very true part of human nature. The feeling of love and why everyone is so guarded about their true feelings in regard to it... usually it's only something you care for deeply that can ever truly hurt you. So it is rational to feel vulnerable and limit access to that part of our nature. Unfortunately we tend to exaggerate the impact of things of such importance, especially when we're young. Emotional pain is something that never stops happening, it doesn't go away, it just evolves into different things over time until you die. It's how you deal with that pain over time that makes you wise or maybe kind of a jackass or something else in between. I like to smoke weed for that kind of thing myself.
