Exam!!!

Exam!!!

A Poem by Tasfia Islam

Tik tok tik, the clock counts 1.....
Open book in the desk and the lessons all undone.

Loads of syllabus spinning in the head.
But brain is not working, uhh... it might be dead.

Chemistry exam tomorrow and all I'm doing is staring at the book..
With big and round eyes, I tend to count the pages from every nook.

I don't even know from where to start.
Oh, I just wanna tear my hair apart....

Painting the periodic table with the black inked pen,
After 30 minutes I realize, this is not in the syllabus given by Mr. Wren

Wow, dude wow, 6 hours left for exam and here I'm busy planning the vacation
And there in exam hall, freaking out with the invigilator for sudden change in the exam duration.

Well honey, if u don't study, then time will surely bother your speed
But hell, why doesn't these noble thoughts comes before xm when I badly need.

Looking at the question paper, I fall from the sky....
Hands on head, I murmur, sweetie, today you're gonna die..

Somebody kill me please, that will be far better than solving problems on these unknown topics
I mean, this is not a cricket field that, pay attention to the ball and here u go....SIX!!!

I just wanna cry staring at that nerdy girl writing at a stormy speed
And imagining the reaction of mom and dad after unveiling my outstanding deed..

Well, not that outstanding, I meant, out of the house standing..
And weeping and saying sorry with heads down, just pretending...

"Ana dear, are you okay? What are you dreaming?"
"Oh I'm great, Miss Hazel!" but inside, I'm screaming...

Alas!! last 30 minutes remaining and my copy is full blank
And deep inside, I'm controlling myself from the massive tear's bank...

Last night, I passed the time singing Lorde's Royals
So now, what's the use of crying for not doing the appropriate toils?

What else to do? Submit the copy and get out of the hall...
With a famine face I came out wanting to hit a wall....

Next, acting like a tortoise and crawling towards home
But don't have the strength to face mom, wish I could bury myself in a nearby dome..

"How was your exam?" mom's eyes seemed burning red behind the glass
I paused for a while and jumped out and yelled, "mom, this time, I'm gonna top the class!"

This is exactly how I felt during AP tests. I swear they release some kind of gas in the room that makes you forget everything and then want to die. This is just an opinion but I think the poem would look nicer if you actually wrote out the word 'you' instead of 'u'. But I could be biased since that's one of my pet peeves. Either way the content is great! Nice job!
