The Walls

The breaking down walls

The walls that we both built

To keep people out

To avoid the hurt

 

Over this time

That we have spent together

The walls have slowly crumbled

 

We both stand here

Free, out in the open

Trusting each other

 

But these walls don’t stay down

They rise once again

But this time it’s different

 

It is not blocking you from me

Or even me from you

No those days are over

 

These walls block us in

They are built around us

They are keeping us safe

 

Blocking out the rest of the world

Those that mean us no good

Just us trusting and loving each other
