A Poem by Tarik

Why such a feeling makes me so sad and so happy at the same time?

I'm made of iron; I can bear it

I’m made of sand; I can scratch your skin

I’m made of silver; I can shimmer in the sunlight

And I’m made of glass; I can break

I can break and hurt you, wound your feet as you walk over me

Each word that you speak shall break me into smaller fragments

And they shall make you bleed

We poison ourselves with our own thoughts .. and we die a slow death walking over those glass fragments ..leaving a trail of blood to mark our sad existence ..

You were right, mixed emotions here .. .. Jazz

Drinking the poisoned chalice. Killing ourselves.

Seems your emotions have got the better of you, love reverted to something different; not necessarily hate but a powerful reaction to the past. You've created some beautiful phrases however, yet such a reverse echo of ' Each word that you speak shall break me into smaller fragments' - a sadness of meaning.

so much of thought and insight here... brilliantly done... every person has a path to choose. He can love and be forbearing, or he can turn hateful and morose... This one digs deep...

Break us down, and we shall only become more aware of our strengths. A lot of ways one might interpret this piece, fascinating and thought provoking. well done!

Intense love! Amazingly worded! Surprising how fragile we can bleed but when needed, we can return the angst! xx

There is so much pain and so much strength flowing through your poetry. We are so often what our minds wish of us... and others can strike us deep, if we allow them to. This is a brilliant, powerful word, Tarik.
