![]() My childA Poem by Tmkanlis
The morning sun, it fades away,
As shadows fall on the broken clay, I hear the cries of the land so wide, But no voice answers from the side. My hands are empty, my heart is torn, Since that day, when the world was worn, I search through dust and rivers dry, Oh, where, oh where, did my child lie? Where is my child, where have they gone? In the silence, I keep waiting on, The stars don't shine, the night is long, I call their name, but no one responds. In the winds that howl, in the dust that falls, Where is my child, I wait through it all? The soldiers came, with hearts of stone, Took my people, left me alone, I searched for days, I searched for years, My voice is drowned in endless tears. I wander through the fields of grief, Through shattered dreams, in disbelief, With every step, I feel the pain, Yet hope whispers in the falling rain. Where is my child, where have they gone? In the silence, I keep waiting on, The stars don't shine, the night is long, I call their name, but no one responds. In the winds that howl, in the dust that falls, Where is my child, I wait through it all? And if I close my eyes, will I find your face? Or am I just lost in an endless place? Through the ashes, through the cries, I’ll search until my last breath dies. Where is my child, where have they gone? In the silence, I keep waiting on, The stars don't shine, the night is long, I call their name, but no one responds. In the winds that howl, in the dust that falls, Where is my child, I wait through it all? I wait through it all, I wait through it all I lost my child © 2025 TmkanlisReviews
