Sanity

It's purely and simply unknown.

I ask a question.

What is real?

Is it the things we see,

the things we feel?

The things we think,

the things we hear?

The time we spent

hiding in fear?

Moments listening

to what they said?

Moments wishing

we were dead?

Hoping for the

things we wish to get?

Trying to remember

the things we forget?

What of insanity?

was is it to you?

abnormal actions

no rhyme through and through?

It's life as we know it

oh trust me its real.

as real as our problems

and the pain we feel.

but no matter how fast you run,

no matter the pace,

we can think we win first,

but win last place.

So i say do what you want

in Life & Itself,

get a good story,

and stick it up on the shelf.

Because its what you think is real,

is what is your reality,

but what i think is real,

is purely insanity.

I think its really, really good! Especially for something just "off the top of [your] head"! I think you really have some good depth to it for something you rushed. I like the couplets, although I've never had the patience to write any myself. I also like the way you managed to make it seem as though you were talking to the reading and having them participate in a, (rather one-sided), conversation! I'm envious, when I write I only manage to seem like I'm talking to myself...^•_○^. You should try writing another - soon I hope! ;P
P.S. You know there's a quote: "In a mad world, only the mad are sane." Does that make you insane? Or everyone else? ?_?
