A Face Like YoursA Poem by Divine ExpressionsWhen I awake in the morning to get started on my day I’m forced to look in the mirror where I come face to face
With this person who I sometimes don’t even know
At this point in life there’s not much left of me to grow
We are made perfect out of your genuine love for us
So why do I sometimes feel as if I shouldn’t make a fuss
To look nice each day that I’m allowed
Because at times I’m walking in a cloud
Not happy about my face and how it should be
I look in the mirror each day and what do I see?
It’s hard to look past my perfect “flaws”
Since I see myself and wonder the cause
As why features are shaped the way that they are
Why imperfections aren’t always barred
I know that I’m the way He created me to be
But I’m growing to realize that I have a face like your because you created me
