Distant Echoes

Distant Echoes

A Poem by Tanya7

Distant echoes,
Always beckon,
Beckon me so close.
A standing statue,
A marble gravestone,
Beneath a withered rose.

Soul escaping,
Body waiting,
Waiting to return.
I'm left alone,
my soul mate gone,
In darkness i do roam.

Holes of sorrow,
Bones are hollow,
Decomposing flesh.
All around me,
Moisture falling,
Salty tears so fresh.

Eyes are closing,
Conscious falling,
I'm falling fast asleep.
So comes an hour,
to drown my sorrow,
A sleep sweet and deep.
