Yearning, Loss, and the Bittersweet Release of Letting Go

Letting Go

You know when it’s time to let go of someone but you really don’t wanna,
You know the pain of losing them when just the thought aches your heart.
So you just hug them in silence while your arms trying to reach them
But you never will, never again after all; that’s what is letting go.

You know that feeling when you are drifting apart,
like once inseparable rope now split into two forever.
No tape, glue, stapler, screw or anything can save this broken rope.
So you just sit in the dark and try to kiss their soul goodbye while you cry.

You know the feeling of losing someone who meant everything for you,
The feeling of letting go of someone you wished for in every wishing well.
The feeling of letting go of someone you wished for at every 11:11 you see.
The feeling of letting go of someone who was your birthday wish.

You know it sucks when the person you wished to be with you every moment suddenly becomes someone you don’t know anymore.
