Effervescence

Effervescence

A Poem by Man on a Wire
"

Trying to use Effervescence as a metaphor here.

"
Vibrant and many you appear with gushing noise,
I try to get a look of you, I try to hold onto you
But you are too fast you are long gone
Effervescence, why do you have to go?
Can't you stay a little long??

Closely bound, yet so independent
You got your own style which cannot be controlled
Your world may be small but can never be crumbled
Effervescence, you give me some moments of smile,
Reminding me, happiness comes in small ways not always in a big pile

You come so fast,
You escape in seconds,
Will you ever come back to meet me someday,
Making me smile the very same way
Effervescence, can't you stay a little long?
Because with you I feel so complete and so strong

You never tend to get older,
I know you will always look the same
With the same tender heart,
Please don't ever let it get tamed.
Effervescence, we may be in different time and space,
But you will never be forgotten because your hidden in the most deepest place

I really like the meter as it bounces and reflects the definition of the word effervescence. It is also an interesting perspective where, like bubbles in champagne, the effervescence follows the definition of leaving soon.

What about integrating the definition where someone is filled with vivacity and enthusiasm....perhaps comically being someone wears you out with their constant annoying effervescence.

Really cool piece and well written.
