Phoenix Rising

Phoenix Rising

A Poem by Tannim
"

Maudlin drivel.

"

Calm,

eyes closed,

a deep breath,

finding my center.

Focus,

willpower,

in total control,

I am my own master.

Push,

harder,

be the boss,

my will creates my reality.

Find,

isolate,

the negative,

the fears and self doubts.

Shove,

move away,

rid myself of them,

they serve no purpose.

Empty,

husked out,

waiting to be filled,

my potential undefined.

Now,

I’m clean,

a phoenix rising.

Breaking out of the patterns

that had bound me before,

and finally flying free.

Free to make my way

into the world.
