Death

Death

A Poem by Taniska 😊😊

It's not my death ,
It's the end of my life .
you will find me ,
At your every breath and smile.

I have departed,
From this cruel world .
Not from your beautiful heart,
Till you remember my worth .

Do not waste your tears,
On regretting your faults.
That you couldn't save me ,
And you forget your words.

I promise you,
That I will take a rebirth,
And we will meet again.
Someday on our life's path.

So dear just remember ,
That I have just departed ,
from this cruel world,
Not from your beautiful heart.

This is one of your best poems. I love the soaring imagination you use here, turning the predictable sentiments about death totally topsy-turvy. This is exactly how I feel about my best friend who died 4 years ago. I feel him with me all the time, still, guiding my decisions based on conversations we had when he was helping teach me about my own bad decisions! The best part of this poem is the sense that the narrator is an effervescent spirit . . . bubbly & hopeful & encouraging . . . in the face of what most people would paint as a bleak circumstance. I love the way you play with contrasting feelings & expectations! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
