Doubt

Doubt

A Poem by Tania Leigh

My thoughts are like rolling thunder

that carelessly torments once silent skies.

My fear is like lightning that I feel paralyzed under

and my tears fall as the rain does when Mother Nature cries.

My feelings seek shelter from the storm and I begin to wonder

if my umbrella of courage will ever open after so many tries.

Those doubts that fester in our minds thought sometimes not always detected are our worst enemy as they hold us back from reaching for our dreams but we can turn it into our greatest strength as if we use it as a motivational tool to strive for the impossible... I love the vulnerability of the human side that you so powerfully display in such few words... A fav of mine.

Powerful and emotional! Very expressive piece.
My fear is like lightning that I feel paralyzed under
and my tears fall as the rain does when Mother Nature cries.
You can feel the pain within these lines.
Very well done =)

Such an overwhelming bittersweet beauty; painted with such a powerful brush. Love your suggestion of the storm approaching, and your question of doubt. Wonderful work!

Interesting.
The first two lines are my favorite, but it Really gets you in the "winter of the mind" atmosphere.
It's structure of it is very unique, and I've enjoyed the light, true to life comedy the last line has brought us.
Not a drop of rain on your parade when I say - keep up the excellent work. :)

Very sublime imagery, speaks to me on almost a different level. I love how you word the actions thunder, mother nature, and the rain as well as how they parallel to the storm inside your head. Kickass work.

This is a wonderful poem. I can totally relate to it.

'My fear is like lightning that I feel paralyzed under

and my tears fall as the rain does when Mother Nature cries.'

I love the similes, especially this one. I like the idea of rain being the tears of Mother Nature. I think of rain as her way of grieving for all She has lost. I wrote a poem a few days ago that illustrates that and posted it today.

This was a great read, thank you for sharing!

A great imagery and description of doubt, I especially loved your last line. All people doubt themselves, but if you allow it to be your weakness then you'll never reach your highest potential. One thing I tell myself when I begin to doubt and fear is this: 'What would I do if I did not fear?' and 'Fearing this is fearing myself'.
