Abandon
A Poem by
Tania Leigh
Luminous light adorns the horizon as Dawn
lends her warmth to the storm-ravaged sea.
Tempestuous waves of the fore-night, now tame,
roll their way to the shore, then in silence recede.
I stand alone with bare feet in the sand and seek
comfort from the cold ocean water’s caress.
By turns, my troubles I cast to the surf and then
pray that this time they, too, will regress.
The salt of my skin meets the cool ocean spray;
they unite as warm tears stream down my face.
I walk away quickly, leaving behind sorrow and
my memories for the sea to erase.

beautiful imagery!! The tide of time and sea surely will comfort thee. As they bring the troubles far away, only residuals will darken the day. Soon, though even throughout the night, they will disapate further still in the glowing of the moonlight~B

Crystallized imagery with strong touch ups of sadness and lamentations.
Very well written, specially the last stanza is overpowering everything else.
Great write.

yes for sure no matter we go and rejoice
we are reminded of our regrets,we can not find comfort where ever we go
its a pity ,we are not like others ,who in very sadness find joy

Sadly beautiful Tania.
"I stand alone with bare feet in the sand and seek
comfort from the cold ocean water's caress."
Girl, how hurt is your heart that the cold ocean gives comfort.
In such a few words you show the depth of emotional pain.
"The salt of my skin meets the cool ocean spray;
they unite as warm tears stream down my face."
here you show the emotional release of being in this place
and you leave quickly "leaving behind sorrow and
my memories for the sea to erase."
I have been on that sand, in that water, and have met the cool ocean spray with warm salt tears.
A beautiful write my friend - one I feel in my soul.

I really like your poem, Tania. Perhaps, especially so because I love being by myself on the ocean shore, and understand, or at least can relate to, the emotional connection one has with the sea...something both metaphorical and existential that I can't quite put my finger on, but know well. Your words allow me to see a woman, standing alone at surf's edge as dawn breaks following a stormy night, casting her troubles into the receding waves, and to feel her plea, her hope. Wonderful write, my friend.

It's difficult to pick a favorite line or two since all are profound and provoke much thought. Your first two lines are amazing, I can see the picture before me. This is sad but what a great way to unload. There is nothing like the ocean and smelling the air--it's therapeutic. Your poem is full of emotion and you tie it all in nicely with the elements.
