Abandon

Abandon

A Poem by Tania Leigh

Luminous light adorns the horizon as Dawn

lends her warmth to the storm-ravaged sea.

Tempestuous waves of the fore-night, now tame,

roll their way to the shore, then in silence recede.

I stand alone with bare feet in the sand and seek

comfort from the cold ocean water’s caress.

By turns, my troubles I cast to the surf and then

pray that this time they, too, will regress.

The salt of my skin meets the cool ocean spray;

they unite as warm tears stream down my face.

I walk away quickly, leaving behind sorrow and

my memories for the sea to erase.

WOW!! Okay, this is just perfectly constructed. The imagery flows without a single flaw. This piece comes to life like a video. Beautifully done.

love and hugs,

What can I say it is as if I am standing there unseen to all but you, great work!

This is beautiful. It's amazing the healing abilities of Mother Earth. It's no wonder we seek out the waters to calm our emotions...it is the moon who rules them both. What a lovely letting go piece, it's delicate and hopeful, touching on the senses so sublime. Love it!!

Better late than never? =)
Lovely, I think I could write ocean and sea poems every day and sand lots of sand. Each grain a warn down trouble, and by its self, so tiny and so shiny, with the whold beach nothing but golden heat under feet, that makes you run to the water, and run again toward the green oasis upon leaving.. This is the place sooo many peole come to leave their dispair.. I wonder, is it global warming we need to concern ourselves with over rising tides or is it indeed out tears that we should concern ourselves with that may rise the tides.. Yes I know silly thinking..

Love this one too.

an inventive write that melds together the serenity of the ocean blue, with the reckless complexity that is the human mind.

For some poets, I appreciate the way they create flow. For others, the rhythm is the key. For you I believe it is your way with words, adjectives, and metaphors. When I read your work, I see the right word in the right place at the right time. You certainly have a "way" with your vocabulary. I cannot wait to dive further into your work! Thank you for sharing.

It's been said that the sea is like a salve to our souls. I can honestly say I have never felt this to be so true then I did after reading this piece. Nicely done.
