Mask

Mask

A Poem by Tania Leigh
"

We all have one...

"

Should the mask I wear ever
fall to the ground, revealing
 the secrets behind it; please
 leave it be and pretend
you didn’t see, for I’ll
be coming ‘round
to find it.

I wish everyone would lose their masks. Maybe if that happened life would be less painful, no?
You touched on a powerful topic with masks and bring to light a great point. Despite the fact your character lost their mask they make a point that they havn't completely lost an attachment to it be mentioning that they'll be back. I wonder if our masks in somecase don't become a part of us? I wouldn't be surprised. Great write.

Evidently your mask doesn't hide anything, giving way to it representing the real you...the only you.

Nice poem; but if I find the mask, please believe I'm going to look into it. I like details, lol!!!

Use to wear one, but am about as down to earth as you can get these days. My hat is off to anyone that feels the need to have one. We are all at different stages in our journey. If you have a moment, will you read "Taking Off the Mask of Pretense." Very much an epiphany for me. Thanks for sending this to me. It is a powerful truth for many.

I like the image with this- even though it is short, the point is unmistakable. I usually don't enjoy short poems- too many of them leave the feeling of being unfinished. But this one tells the entire story- I can't think of a single thing to improve upon. Thank you for sharing.

So well expressed. Masks are useful tools. I like the structure of this poem as well. So much is said in so few words. Cheers.

A great piece.....I liked this, it has great meaning. Everyone has some sort of mask to protect them from the world around them, but on occassions that mask can slip and the vaunrable person underneath is shown.
