Mask

Mask

A Poem by Tania Leigh
"

We all have one...

"

Should the mask I wear ever
fall to the ground, revealing
 the secrets behind it; please
 leave it be and pretend
you didn’t see, for I’ll
be coming ‘round
to find it.

I love the way you arrange the words. How can people play around with them but still keeping their deep meaning? It has a scary aroma about it.

We find ourselves a place apart / behind light words that tease and flout. / But, oh, the agitated heart / Til someone finds us really out. R. Frost

Your words were true. Real.

You bet we all do but if one looks close enough the cracks are visible and then the mask fails to conceal in entirity. This is pithy and powerful and a simple statement of truth.

EXCELLENT!!! We all wear masks and they are our protection against the cold harshness of the world. I like this one. Lydia

Hate to say this, but I don't really agree with it. You see, you can't really see the real thing behind the mask, only the eyes. After all, the eyes are the window to the souls, then you can see the real things. But, that's just me and that's how I see everything.

Anyway, this is still a good writing, so no worries...

Instead of coming back to find it, why not move on ahead, leaving the mask behind? Or, is the mask that important?

Nice. Short but sweet.
