colorsA Poem by Saumya TiwariLet's see what color we find.Look around and play with your sight Never know what you might get Beneath the dust and wraps of eyes In the concealed truths of life Let’s see what colors we find Blue for all those two droplets That raced on your window pane, And all those times when you looked up And saw something beautiful In vapors among the skies. When wretched and desolate You locked yourself Inside Your own self and hung around like a spirit unconfined. Let’s see what color we find. Pink for all the times You held hands too tight Still it never hurt to come closer. When you gave too much And forgot to receive. When the whole essence died But a little hope of hope Refused to depart your psyche And your heart controlled your mind Let’s see what color we find. Grey for those shadows That came close and became one Even when their people Had minds and hearts away wide. When you looked out in the world And It seemed so bright, But just a peep inside And you saw it collapsing all down. But to each other both worlds are blind, Let’s see what color we find. Red for those moments so sudden That made you weak on your knees When arrows shot pierced your heart Only to make the pieces bleed. For the love and disgust that you carry In the bleeding pieces together, Crushing it more and stabbing it hard Enduring everything, despite everything. You can never leave your parts behind, Let’s see what color we find. Yellow for the faith you found Unanticipated and unpredicted In most bizarre dark fractions of time And you carried that light Till the end of the road Only to see it turn gloomy at nights. Maybe picking it up was the mistake Or maybe it was to keep it in dark. For things to be spread cannot be confined Let’s see what color we find. White for that innocence Which you left behind with time. For the times you looked at the stars And you saw more than shine. When everything around you spoke A silent message only for you to hear, When even in the rotten fruit You found a seed so magnificent, And that seed bore fruits of all kind, Let’s see what color we find. Green for growing up to know Of the stories that thrive only in dreams, Stories that turn the pages of reality Until the real world fades in the backdrop. The nightmares that visited you at nights, Now you carry around for they made you home, You grow up to know those nightmares Made your existence a beautiful dream. Because they took over your spirit rather than mind Let’s see what color we find. Black for that face of your self Which no one else in the world could see, Those stories and poems idolized the one And that one came and went away, But the truths that were kept hidden inside They were decayed and died away. And that’s how you lost your self with time, And that’s how you make yourself again, And that’s how your life unwinds, Let’s see what color we find.
