Burn My Blackened Heart

Burn My Blackened Heart

A Poem by Areya Valena

I've never agreed with creamation,
but I can't bear to look at the shattered remains of my heart..

So today i've made the decision,
We're gonna burn her to the ground.
We can dress in our favorite white attire,
And carry candles to the service,

I'll bring the gasoline to pour over the memories,
and i'll promise not to cry.
We'll travel sixty miles,
away from the place she was damned from the start.

We'll dig a whole three feet in the ground,
a foot for each break.

You can set her in the ground,
I can't bear to touch her,
without apologizing for the pain I put her through,
And begging for forgivness.

I'll set her ablaze,
and finally we'll be free,
without the hold of her past on us.

We can thank her,
and pray that her replacement will hold up.

And finally me and you will be free,
finally my heart won't dwell on anything but the now.

But i'll never forget my blackened heart.
For the s**t she's put up with through the years.
I'll whisper to her my goodbyes,
and pray for her to rest in peace,
forever she will rest,
along with the pain thats engraved on her chest.

You know those movies, or t.v. shows, where the woman stares in the mirror crying and she reaches for the scissors, and you think; "Oh my God! What is she going to do?" Then, they show her chopping he.. more..
