Letters to my cousin - Part three - ending

Letters to my cousin - Part three - ending

A Poem by Alexie
"

A measure of love

"
Can you measure love like flour?
In a cup, meter, or hour?
It can be tested and described
But never measured or quantified

A measure of love is plenty
To last the lifetime of many
Even with your heart, mind, and soul
Your love with continue to grow

Your love is proven by time
And can truly be sublime
Like a snowflake, it's unique
Love can handle every pique

Like a garden, it can blossom
Into something truly awesome
What you grow is what you planted
Never take your love for granted

Just like a colt that you raise
Love is work for all your days
Like a school of manta rays
Your love is sure to amaze

I certainly agree with the thoughts expressed in this poem, especially the last line of the first stanza where you said "but never measured or quantified." I hope your 'cousin' enjoyed this (that is, assuming that this poem was really meant for your cousin in real life and was not just a fictional plot behind the poem). I think you did well with this. It certainly made me contemplate the beauty of love.
