Palace in the Mountains

Palace in the Mountains

A Chapter by Serenity

We rushed toward the palace that lay on the other side of the forest. My breathing speeding up as we came closer and closer to our destination. The trees start to thin out and we realize that the forest must be ending soon. Confused I paused and looked around for the Queens castle thinking that we must have missed it or something. I look up and see this magnificent castle in the mountains. Above the castle the clouds moved to always be shining a ray of light on the castle no matter how dark, dreary and overcast a day it might be. They made their way to drawbridge and decided to scale down from the peak of the mountain. With extreme difficulty they made it inside the palace walls. The hardest part was over Torann thought but she never once thought of how they were going to get out. Undead Nitemare signaled for them to stop at the edge of the garden. A couple of guards watched the door while two more walked around. Crimson Nitemare, took out the two roving guards and Tragic Nitemare started to play her harp that made the other two pass out onto the cold hard ground. Running in Eternal Nitemare slit their throats so that they couldnt wake up to warn anybody. Then Raging Nitemare, Destructive Nitemare and Exploding Nitemare grabbed the bodies and hid them from the point of view of the castle. Undead Nitemare signaled for them to go ahead and enter the palace. As Torann she couldnt help but think about the similarities between the sisters and the differences. They were both Queens for starters she guessed, but while her Queens palace was Black and Blue and dark and dismal this palace was white and gold on the inside. There were barely any shadows to hide in at all. The others all paused to looking at the bright walls. We followed the hall down towards two large light brown wooden doors that had black knockers on them.

"That has to obviously be the only dark thing in this place" Toxic Nitemare joked. Torann followed close behind Undead Nitemare as they approached the grand doors. Undead Nitemare turned to her and gestured to the door.

"It is your mission, you open them and see what awaits" He bowed and backed up behind her. Breathing deeply she raised her hand and grabbed hold of the door pushing on it, it opened with a slight hesitation. The bright luminescent light blinded them all only momentarily and when they opened their eyes they were shocked at what they found.
