Torann

Torann

A Chapter by Serenity

The assassins group known as Nitemare's Shadow lived and breathed to serve their Queen. She was harsh and cruel and killed anyone and everyone she even remotely disliked. No one was safe from the QUeen and her assassins. Even the townsfolk werent safe. One day Nitemare's Shadow was called before their Queen. They entered the Grand Blue Throneroom in their cloaks of midnight blue. They each knelt before their Queen with grace and poise. The leader, Undead Nitemare, stepped forth to recieve their mission. He bowed curtiously and waited for the assignment. The Queen grinned maliciously as she told him the mission she had for him and his clan. Undead Nitemare tried to hide his confusion by bowing his head further. He made sure his dark blue hood covered his face from the Queens vision. She nodded her head, dissmissing them from her presence. Once outside the palace Undead Notemare explained how they were supposed to find a girl named Torann and kill her discreitly and slowly. One of the members stepped forward telling of how he had heard of a woodsmith who lives nearby with his duaghter Torann. They all set out for this woodsmiths cottage in the forest. Upon finding the small cottage they all camped out behind trees and shrubs waitinf for a sign that Torann and her father had fallen asleep. Suddenly they heard a mans voice yelling for Torann to go fetch some more firewood from outside. The assassins braced themselves waiting for the girl to come out. To their surprise a girl of only 10 or 11 opened the door. Making her way over to the grove of trees, smiling and skipping all the while. The assassins look at each otheer realizing they have all come to the same conclusion. They cannot kill her but if they let her live the Queen would find out and kill the girl herself. They finally decide to take the girl with them and raise her as their own. Quickly they pick her up and rush to their secret quaters. The young girls crystal blue eyes wide with fright. Her golden hair pulled back into a simple ponytail. She shook and trembled not sure of where she was or of what had just happened. She looked around the large underground lair and backed herself into a corner where she sat and cried silently. The group of assassins didnt know what to do, they had never raised a child before. Living Nitemare, the leaders girlfriend, came and comfurted the young girl. Torann never talked but she learned fast and maybe one day if she trained well, she would be able to join the group known as Nitmare's Shadow.
