Many masks hide the true person that lies behind

They hide their true selves somewhere inside their mind

Behind the perfect piece of plastic lies something once broken

Behind every glittery, smily face lies someones golden token

Why must we all hide in shame or in fear

While one girl smiles and laughs the other sheds a tear

Why do people cause others so much pain

Standing all alone drenched in the pouring rain

Masks of beauty and despair look out at you

They sit there and silently stare looking through

Hiding behind what they only once knew

Hiding behind the masks of pain and regret

Lieing to yourself and to someone you just met

Let youself finally show through, take off the mask

quit hiding and come out, do such a little task

Be Proud, Be You

Dont listen to what others have often told you to do

Throw away the mask that holds you back

Give in to the love that will keep you on track

When your heart has been broken and ripped in two

There are so many people that need to read this and take the advice. Society is so content forcing it's ideals on others and forcing people to "follow the crowd and be like everyone else", its f*****g stupid! People should be themselves and not have to be worried or afraid of being criticized and rejected for who they are and what they look like. People say they want originality and freedom, well then where the f**k is the freedom of expression in society? Guys gotta be badass and sporty to be accepted while girls have to show off thier a*s, tits, and skin to even be acknowldged. Society is it's own enemy in the fight for personal freedom and diversity. Ah, the ignorance of mankind. I wish i had 3D glasses for this fucked up movie staring the ignorant acts of people trying to improve what they are tearing apart. Favoriting.

I think this line speaks loudly as to the despair life can cause, if we let it.

However, when people overcome the pain and fear, they may begin to express who they are...perhaps ultimately dancing in the rain.
