You, Me, Him and Prom

You, Me, Him and Prom

A Poem by Serenity

I smile, I stall
I give it my all
I follow your direction
My heart enclosed for protection
I help on a whim
While you ask him
My body shaking
My heart still aching
I don't want to cry
But the tears sting my eye
I wanted to go with you
I should have asked you to
But I have so much baggage
And I'm clearly damaged
So I understand
Why you'd never want to hold my hand
Or even want to dance with me
We were just never meant to be
