Time

Time

A Poem by Tammy

Where does it go, always flying off?

Many hold on to the hope

that they can forestall

it vanishing

Moving toward a future

that will help

with the creation

of past yesterdays

Not always measured precisely

but within a certain duration

to help keep track

of what we have

so little of,

time

Loved your take on time. Something that is infinite in the universe, but so measured and short for us.

I love the visual parallel to time's dwindling away! It's a great poem, one that makes the reader (and I'm sure the poet!) want to grab hold of Time as it whizzes past us, keep it in a lidded jar, watch it on lonely nights shine like fireflies.

I love this poem because it reminds me how much I chase 'time'. It seems to me that I never have enough. Thank you for sharing this piece. I enjoyed the nice easy flow. Nice work.

Time is. only our perception of it alters. It drags when we are unhappy and flies when we would rather it slowed down. In reality all we ever see is now. The past is memory and the future is yet to be. So do it now or miss the opportunity
