I don't wear make up and skirts, high heels or any pearls,

I don't get dressed up pretty like all the other girls.

I don't have jewels and handbags, fancy bras and other s**t,

I really just don't see the point,

I got no bloody tits.

(honest, I don't, but that's not the point)

My shirts are old, my jeans are torn,

Been like that since John was born.

I don't have a flash house,

I don't have a flash car,

To the outside, it doesn't look like I've got far.

So much further from the truth I say,

Couldn't ask for more than what I've got.

You're full of s**t, we don't believe you,

You're skint, you're broke, you're poor.

To those with these mocking words,

Who think they've got the lot.

With a smile written upon my face,

I say, no, I'm really not.

Lol, I love the quirky way you write things :) and you're 100% right, you don't need fancy things or a lot of things in your life to make you happy ... as long as you have the right things that you need, that's all the matters :) I didn't have a lot as a kid growing up, but my Mum always made sure we knew we were loved and I appreciate things a lot more than some of the friends I used to have, I don't take things for granted either.

There's just too many people out there obsessed with money, thinking that will make them happy, not realizing that if they're not happy to begin with it doesn't mean anything.

Thank you, I try not to be too serious all the time, I like to add a bit of humour at times to make a serious message easier to digest, like adding salt to a meal.
I do dress tidy (I don't look like the old crazy cat-lady, I promise) :)
I shop at second hand places and charity shops, only last week, I bought a jacket, worth almost $100 new, I got it for $5.
(I'm a cheapskate when it comes to my clothes, nothing new but socks and underwear) lol.
As long as John is dressed, well fed and clean, that's all that matters to me.

i know, i like people easy going with nothing fancy neither in dress or thought or manners,or using big words,the whole attire,even they way they deal with people ,pompous thats what drive me mad,and i feel sorry for them,for most underneath are very shaky and never trust their own selves..

Exactly, they may look confident from the outside, but I think (most of the time, espessially the younger generations) they're just tring to hide their insecurities.
I'm comfortable with myself and I no longer give a toss what they think.

I tend to write things like this after a day of shopping, I always get annoyed with people looking down their nose at me just because I don't get tarted up like them.
(I have written another one along this line, it's called "would you like to rethink that?") I was kind of pissed off that day.
My son comes first, And I take pride in that.

Thank you, I've always loved stringing words together, it's always amused me how so many words that mean such different things can sound so alike.
It's just fun trying to find a few words to mix up and make it sound clever.

Nice! That was funny! I do not wear skirts too (my cutesy gothic days are long gone.) Now, I wear combat boots, ripped jeans, and a leather jacket. I know, I dress from the wrong era. And I do NOT wear skinny jeans; that's just sick, just saying because sometimes people assume that I do. Wealth can be measured in other ways, too, not just through money.
