Lol, I love the quirky way you write things :) and you're 100% right, you don't need fancy things or a lot of things in your life to make you happy ... as long as you have the right things that you need, that's all the matters :) I didn't have a lot as a kid growing up, but my Mum always made sure we knew we were loved and I appreciate things a lot more than some of the friends I used to have, I don't take things for granted either.
Props to you for this poem :)

I've always called myself "warped" lol.
There's just too many people out there obsessed with money, thinking that will make them happy, not realizing that if they're not happy to begin with it doesn't mean anything.
Like I said to Angel (just scroll down a bit, bit more, there you go) a bit more cash wouldn't go amiss.
(ok, I said astray, same thing) :P

I agree, a little bit of money would never go amiss, but it's not the be all and end all of everything. Quality over quantity and all that :)
You have love in your life...what more could anyone ask for??
You have your wonderful man, and your beautiful son...and, of course, Beau. And you are happy with who you are.
Like you, I am poor...but I am happy with who I am. That is something that money cannot buy...

So true, no matter how much money you have, if you're not happy within youself, it does't mean squat.
I'd rather be broke and happy than rich and miserabe, (although a bit more cash would't go astray)

Thanks for reading Angel, I enjoy your visits.
you are so right, never have to look so fancy and everything
so lovely when you are your true self, never fake it just to satisfy
on contrary show whatever you like, true life, true feelings
its what we miss a lot these days..your writings have a special taste

Thank you, I try not to be too serious all the time, I like to add a bit of humour at times to make a serious message easier to digest, like adding salt to a meal.
I do dress tidy (I don't look like the old crazy cat-lady, I promise) :)
I shop at second hand places and charity shops, only last week, I bought a jacket, worth almost $100 new, I got it for $5.
(I'm a cheapskate when it comes to my clothes, nothing new but socks and underwear) lol.
As long as John is dressed, well fed and clean, that's all that matters to me.
Again, thank you for reading and your reveiw, I appreciate it.
Tammy.

Exactly, they may look confident from the outside, but I think (most of the time, espessially the younger generations) they're just tring to hide their insecurities.
I'm comfortable with myself and I no longer give a toss what they think.

Nice one, clever criticism for fake appearances and empty hearts....good use of revenge through sarcasm and words...
But although this world is full of hatred and injustice, there is still beauty and peace in it somewhere.
Best wishes for love and peace:)

Thank you for reading and your review.
I tend to write things like this after a day of shopping, I always get annoyed with people looking down their nose at me just because I don't get tarted up like them.
(I have written another one along this line, it's called "would you like to rethink that?") I was kind of pissed off that day.
My son comes first, And I take pride in that.

This is really not bad. You have a rough, hard-edged voice which works very well with your topic matter. I think the very last line is perhaps the best one. Well done.
I really like the rhythm of your piece, and personally, rhyme is my favorite (and I think most challenging) connotation. I also enjoyed its more positive overall mood, and the subtle humor.

Nice! That was funny! I do not wear skirts too (my cutesy gothic days are long gone.) Now, I wear combat boots, ripped jeans, and a leather jacket. I know, I dress from the wrong era. And I do NOT wear skinny jeans; that's just sick, just saying because sometimes people assume that I do. Wealth can be measured in other ways, too, not just through money.
You make me laugh, Tamm.
