In a Room

In a Room

A Poem by Tamlin

I'm in a room with faces all round
Faces which stare but make not a sound
Trapped in a place where the floor meets the ceiling
With a demonic rhythm that leaves me reeling

The empty souls all flock to me
As if I am a sort of unholy deity
The footsteps on the carpet pace back and forth

Panicked words clamber out under my tongue
Waiting faces all so perfectly hung

and then

Author's Note

Tamlin
The rhythm is meant to pick up and become more uneven and unsettling as the poem goes on.

I'd appreciate any feedback you lovely people have to give.

Wow ....the "and then" part left me wondering! I love the part where you said.."trapped in a place where the floor meets the ceiling" great visual and a great way to describe some type of pain..it is pain right! Meant to show how one feels trapped and its so tightly driven that one feels as if there's no way out. Great Write! You should make a part two to this poem or better yet divide it in sections! This being section one of course! I enjoyed it very much! - Love Xena
