In this world
Where right is gone
And wrong lives on
...
In this world
Where we pray for sin
Doing anything to win
Whats wrong and whats right
I will choose the eternal light
I refuse evil with all its might
I refuse to go down without a fight
I refuse to bow down to the night
One more breath
I could stand forever
Nothing scares me not even death
Strengthen by the love of another
Strengthen by my sister and my brother
The power of love given by my lover
Whats wrong and whats right
I will choose the eternal light
I refuse evil with all its might
I refuse to go down without a fight
I refuse to bow down to the night
In this place
Where children die
And governments lie
...
In this place
Where souls are lost
Going nowhere too fast
Whats wrong and whats right
I will choose the eternal light
I refuse evil with all its might
I refuse to go down without a fight
I refuse to bow down to the night
I do not know what to add after all those wonderful reviews: i like it a lot and only this passage
„I refuse to go down without a fight, I refuse to bow down to the night“ makes your poem a vibrant, positive, clear and audacious testimony to all others who might be confused about the way forward.

wonderful... I love the subject matter you have brought forth in this piece...I don't think you could have said it any better then what you have presented... I like the lyrical feel to this as well...
Wow! This is a powerful poem. It is very well penned and has the air of a protest song. You have said a lot in this thought provoking write. We each much choose where we will stand. I choose the eternal light and embrace all as my brothers and sisters. No one person can bring about peace in this world but if each of us reaches out to others in love, there could or would be a snowball effect which could rock this world.
'I fight for what is right, I lay down arms to seek the best not for myself but for the planet .. ' I don't know - can't remember, who wrote those words or similar but feel them very strongly.
Man was given mind and words to reason and discuss .. he wasn't born with weapons as part of his body, nor evil running through his veins. Yes, we need to refuse evil, yes, we need to fight but in doing both we need to see that individuals are what makes up our global population and, as a family, work together for everyone's good.
Your poem is powerful and logical, explains in its own way (so does your message below - clearly) - we're given choices, as is our right .. you state yours very clearly and with near spiritual tone.
I live by my rules!
Never steal unless it saves a life
Hold the secret even if under a knife
Never break a heart to save your own
Protect your friend even if your fate is unknown
