There's a Hole in Your Ego

I see there's a hole in your ego
Where the sun shines through,
Upon sunny pastoral scenes,
Quite a lovely view.

But it contrasts with the overcast,
The clouds of the past where
Our thunder rumbles and our lightning
Scenes flash fast, striking

Outcropping's of memory mountains,
Silhouettes, emotions -
Rugged and vast they shelter a small soul's
Wilderness-dark crevasse.

Reach out to me, I to you, perhaps
We can abide there too...
But prefer that sunny, grassy sward
Where flowers of poems grow

... gently from your words.

Oh Tam, that's beautiful.. I was so caught up in the scenery I almost forgot the stuff behind it. The hole in our ego is where we are truly ourselves and therefore the most vulnerable that place where we feel. Excellent

:) I'm always glad to stop by it's wonderful to read your writing.
god this is really wonderful...i got so caught up in the images...the ego of love as fragile as the ego of the poet...but flowers do grow like poems, and love can grow from gentle words...

so easily...if we do reach out to one another.

You wax poetically perfect. That hole in your ego is apparently filled with poetry and dancing wildflowers. Love this one Tam, it made me emphatically smile.

Ah, now I understand. You wax, I wain... the ebb and flow of the living universe; sublime.
I see there's a hole in your ego
Where the sun shines through,

Quite a lovely view.

Our ego is designed to protect. The question is what are we being protected from. Sublime write, Tam.

a 100 sunny scenes from me.
