I Me We and You

I Me We and You

A Poem by Tam Warink
"

Furious turtles scorn the Interstate's vast breadth.

"

I Me We and You

I me we and you
all together .. in a small can of goo
up come the sails out go the rails
we row and stroke and it pours
and .. the oars are lost, bobbing away
like analogies at play.

So, in my day - I me we and you
tall, proud, time-covered .. as statues in the park
and surly dogs at night that bark
at haversacks of little mints
everyone chosen, eaten at random
until, by the fall of roman columns
no more apples bobbing and so

it's just I me we and you.

Most welcome.
I love how you wrap your pen around this in an abstract fashion, yet make such common sense of it all in a small can of goo. Ah, the we's have it, but it's all about me, me, me, isn't it now?

I have read a few of your reviews and now a few poems...
I find your intellect sharp and your humor filled with wit.
You spell out profound truth here.
Maybe our congress and President should read this?
Simple isn't it?

This is the mentality that makes a country great. Sadly, when half of the population is all about me-me-me, eventually, there will be no we, we, we.

This is a brilliantly penned poem from an obviously deep thinker.

Thanks for your comments, Latifa.
I, Me, We, and You......that's all there is and there aint no more! We have to help each other get through without the oars, don't we? When push comes to shove, we are the ones to rely upon. We have to start somewhere and somehow. Indeed, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". I liked the surrealistic imagery in this one....not sure why a knapsack full of peppermints would be something dogs would bark at, but I liked thinking about it! :) Lydi**

Thank you for reading and your comment, Zainul!
all the metaphors, allegories, analogies and such aside...

it all comes down to you and me and we...and we have to stick together to survive..if we don't, we will be the last apples bobbing...and soon there will be none left...existence will be over.

deep piece presented with some humor.

really like this.
