Proof love exists.

For a domain of discourse ♥ of all love
If P(i) is the propositional function "i love u and u love i"

Λ   Ǝi Î {♥}

      1 + 1 = i + u

   1 - 1 = i - u

1 * 1 = i * u

      A ÷ B = i ÷ u

   A = B = i = u

A ♥ B = i ♥ u

Q.E.D.

Author's Note

If you're not mathematically inclined, don't worry about it. The only thing you'll need to know is that "Q.E.D" is an abbreviation of the Latin phrase "quod erat demonstrandum". It literally translates as "which was to be demonstrated" .. the rest, just sound them out - it should make more sense that way. Also, while the "♥" is intended to represent a special symbol it should be understood that it is often interchanged for the word love. Finally, Λ may be read as "ring" and "Ǝ" may be read as "there exists." While "{}", the curly braces indicate a set you might also think of them as hugging what's inside them. Hope that helps! :)

Why A and B and u and i each get an intersecting equivalent. The operator "♥" is commutative. So it works both ways and therefore who gets which half is largely a non-issue. :) How's it going, Chris? Thanks for reading. ^_^

Ha no it didn't help one bit, I'm not mathematically inclined at all, we have a hate/hate relationship, I love words, this made me dizzy, but I enjoyed the ride...appreciate the effort you put into this one Tam. ;-)

Frieda, you must audition for the upcoming sitcom, "The Brave and Daring." Anyone that takes the time to even respond to this one is surely in a league of their own. Mathematically speaking, there is no incline here at all. It's just a leap of faith into the oblivion of pure symbolism... rather like Emily's poem on learning the names of things as a child. You know how people are often caught up in sex, politics and religion? Well, math is very much concerned with the same things but at a more abstract level and using an symbols that stand for thoughts without the history of primate vocalizations. Do you suppose I'm really just trying to get back to those caveman grunts and all that stuff? Hmm, and then there is the language of drink.. but that a different poem, right? ;-)
