An inquisitive childA Story by TalvinderAsk for the reason and you'll get the solution.
Sitting in a school bus, staring outside the window. His Eyes fall on the manufacturer's stamp on window glass,it reads ruf-n-tuf. Sitting on the third seat from the front he stares at the moving morning sun, why sun is moving with our bus? He questions to himself. But yesterday our science teacher told us, sun is fixed and earth moves around it. He looks at the morning sun easily. It continues to move with the bus. Now the bus will turn right from this red light. Will sun turn with us? Screeching sound of brakes reaches his ears before bus comes to halt. He jerks forward. After 33 seconds of red light, signal turns green, and so does his neurons. Why can't we exchange or change green and red colour of the traffic signal? As bus picks up the speed he pushed back himself into his seat. He enjoys this easiness. A jute string pricks into his skin. He pulls it and it came out long. What is this brown woody shoot, whatever, why they fill this in seats? Bus decelerates past screeching. Why such jerk is produced when brakes are applied? A sharp turn, sun followed the bus. He gleams, its moving with us, see its moving, he tightens his grip on the steel bar in front of him and inclined outwards. He twists his head to see fellow kids, like him. Ohh...and why we fall outwards when bus takes a turn speedily? Sun is still moving, why can't he just stop!
The next day he did the same. But today, sun is hiding partially behind the clouds. Why clouds are not moving with us? Why clouds are always in front of sun? And bus takes a leap on the Yamuna bridge. He jerks when bus encounters concrete joints at constant interval. Why can't bridges be smooth? Why so many unwanted joints are there? Bus crosses the Science Centre then Pragati Maidan and speeds before it halts in front of the school gate. The ten year old inquisitive mind asks the final question before dispersing his journey, And why we come to school daily? © 2015 Talvinder |
