People with splinters

People with splinters

A Poem by Ainigma
"

"

People with splinters are the people who cut me in line,

Who get the last piece of pie.

People with splinters are the people who fail to appreciate me, my hard earned self-discipline,

Who correct me and see that I too have failed to be the most perfect I could be.

People with splinters are the people whose cultural habits are insulting mine,

Give me the time and I will tell you how to make the world right.

People with splinters are the people who cannot see life through my eyes, agreeing to disagree,

When simply I know I am the one being right.

People with splinters are people different than ‘I’,

Who in spite of their splinters still see the beam in my eye.

Humility is the best set of tweezers for people with splinters, but, sadly, I doubt that those people will ever see the need for them.

Me? I've got a whole lumber yard in my eye, so there's no time for me to be looking for splinters or logs in another person's eye.

These are some wonderful words of wisdom you've written here. It's a pity there are so few who will heed them.

assertive and strong
we are who we are
and we cannot be
who we cannot be
and that i guess
applies to everyone
besides, to err is human
perfection lies in the imperfect
who accept their imperfections
and that of others
and then attempt to mend
or so me thinks
