Goldfish

Goldfish

A Poem by Tally
"

The goldfish and his world. A funny little poem.

"

Round and round and round I swim

Exercise to keep me trim

Past the galleon through the seaweed

Find the flakes and have a feed

My home is round no corners in sight

You tap the glass and give me a fright

I have scales for skin

And at the top there’s a fin

I see the cat, he licks his lips

Perhaps he wants me with some chips

I open my mouth and a bubble pops out

No one hears me when I want to shout

Save me from that big bad cat

Sitting there staring at me on the mat

My world is small but I don’t care

This is my den, my home, my lair

Whimsical and light........brings a smile to the reader. There's no real substance to the piece, but it's a fun read, and I'm guessing that's the point, so it works well!
