An Empty Collar

An Empty Collar

A Poem by The Turk
"

A tribute to my life long friend. RIP Gypsy

"
An empty collar
A limp lifeless lonesome leash
My best friend like a
Flower, withering, ready
To let go, goodbye best friend

The Turk
She was my best friend and she still is. That little spot in your heart for your friend can never be filled. It can only be minimized. RIP Gypsy 1994-2012 I love you

i wonder why it is that a dog doesn't get to live too long but still has to grow old
a fitting tribute to man's best friend, bravo!

The bond between a dog and his owner can be that of a parent and their child. Nice write, sad.

I've never had a dog, and I don't think I'm going to ever get one (maybe in the future who knows), but I love my grandmother's dog and my aunt's. I usually get attatched to dogs that are not mine, but are my family members or a friends. You expressed the pain and loss in this poem greatly. Short, simple, and to the point. Lovely poem! I'll be sure to pray for your dog, Turk, but I know that she's in heaven. All dogs do go to heaven, as Tai said. And a lovely name you gave your dog by the way!
Great poem, thanks for sharing!

You're welcome, anytime :)
I am incredibly sure your darling friend would have enjoyed this; had he been able to read. Worry not, you know what they say: all dogs go to heaven.

Thank you for the support. And I am glad all dogs go to heaven. I am sure she'll be happy there.
Oh. Wow. This was beautiful and I don't know what to say for the loss of a friend.

A great honor to have this written for your friend. A most notable memory. Tears will fall down on to the flower, so it grows strong and healthy in his next life.
