Alone

Alone

A Poem by Utopia

The night gapes
With its hollow eyes;
No escape,
My shadow has gone.

I've learned from Pain
And the Emptiness inside,
It taught me
To hold back my tears,
To pretend I'm fine.

I am my worst enemy,
My greatest friend,
But somewhere in the
Darkness,
I lost sight of myself.

The faces I once knew,
Forgot me.
The silence I threw away,
Now haunts me.

Author's Note

Utopia
This is a bit darker than the usual, I just felt like sitting down and thinking about everything for a bit. This was just a little harder to write, because I feel like I payed more attention to my own emotions this time, so the ending result might not be as good. Thank you for reading, sorry for the long note. :)

This is so true to what I believe almost everyone feels at some point, some more than others. Very nicely done. Keep Dreaming.

Excellent poem, shows the darker side of human emotion in a well presented format. Everyone can relate to this at one point in their life, which is what makes it more of an understandable piece in my opinion.
