A Poem by Tali Longkumer
"

To a Northern Writer

"

To a Northern Writer

To a Friend

I cannot -

Spread my wings for a huge hug,

nor for a hearty welcome

a garland full  and a Kiss,

Yet, I can offer-

My quill that would poorly ink my thoughts!

and also without expending much-

and this my friend, my Northern writer

when you stroll those streets again

may you become brave and hardy,

that you may travel on life's pages safely,

and though less acquaintance we have,

and few connections to hold

it should never be forgotten

we are pillars for one another.

And as you trot on God's surface

strive hard that you may harvest well

and taste sweet of your once bitter Journey!,

and when someday if days shuts its door,

and you sit upon doubtful chairs,

Remember this my friend-

The restless hands of yours

will maketh the pages grow thicker,

and the pen mighter,

and your language stronger!

Ditto, I cannot -

Spread my wings...............

yet, I can,

I can for a lifetime cheer for thee,

and flip those written leaflets of yours one fine day.
