No longer am I

No longer am I

A Poem by Talen Robert M. Sangma
"

The poem speaks of a boy who falls for a girl long a decade ago but kept unrevealed. He no longer hold back, being mature now, is still for her speaks of struggles forgetting but finally reveals her.

"

NO LONGER AM I:

It has been now, a decade that sinks into me

Deep in my heart that rings tenderly,

Inexplicable beat, illuminating in every second,

Irresistible feelings that always ascend

In my hourly thoughts, growing more intense

That requires a self quire of complete sense.

Is it just the crush or the correct target motion?

Is it a true emergence or an infatuation

To all, that will match the duo in preparation?

Aligning the common interest to joyful connection?

Should I repel or let the effervescence to settle?

No, never rush on to a switch. Learn to handle.

Look forward first to spending moments happily,

Sharing life in endless, in all spheres together daily.

The conflict question reverberate to clarify, in me,

Either to fade it away or create a persistency

Yet, the later continues to bestir in, rattling

As a rival that's inciting, to the winning,

Acceding as asserting, as a pleasant music to the soul

Enduring to be the legend, of appeasing goal,

That seems ascertaining, steering to the one

Tingling even to more in my mind, towards none

Except to that, that sinks a decade of years ago

When I was deeply touched in that single glow,

Of the shining smile that hits my eyes and the heart

Softening the rest of my veins, promising never to depart

That draws all the blood circulating to the heart

To test the purity, the dirt to discard

But then, the stain not found, deepening to start.

No longer am I able to hold it back

No matter what, I will be on my own track

Love has no fear that sees no boundary

That goes around giving it all cheerfully.

Let me go and say, “I do love you”

I do love not only with your smile,

I do love not only with your voice,

I do love not only with your laugh,

I do love not only with your eyes,

I do love not only with your body,

I do love not only with your beauty.

For if I do love you only for your beauty,

It’s no longer a love but a crush.

As thou art, growing, forming in thou own decree,

So do I’m, in love, in your personality, to keep thee in lee.

Expect not I, to get a quick response right away,

Yet it’s my humble approach to you, to say:

Would you thoughtfully accept me?

Ah, ah! Rush not to the choice of this tickling play.

Take your time, but either of if, kindly say.

Questioning:

a. Why must the boy kept silent unrevealed at the initial stage?

b. What was the responsed of the girl, refusal or acceptance? (kept intentionally unanswered for the reader to conclude)
