A Star

I am watching,

What looks like,

A star.

Burning brightly,

Above us.

A thousand light years

Away from us.

What would it look like,

From up close?

The colour, the shape.

What gases would it be

Burning?

I am sitting

On the grass

Watching it sparkle.

A billion, billion miles

Away.

Wondering,

How big would it be?

I am watching it,

From the garden

Looking at how it

Sparkles.

Like a scientific version of twinkle twinkle little star, nicely done! I see a girl staring up at a particular star, maybe her star, and wondering what it would be like to meet that star while sitting under the night sky in a field.

I love stars. I use to watch them when I was young and there were loads of them when you look up at night sky but now when you look there is hardly any. Thanks for the review.

you can thank pollution for that. I kind of live out in the middle of no where, in a way, so we can still see the stars...some nights....

Well its also because of red shift. You know the expansion of universe. But you said it there all thanks to pollution(!)... Sometimes there is a bright star that I see occasionally in night sky; it reminds of the stars I use to watch

It makes me feel happy, and generally I don't like things that seem all chopped up like this because they don't flow well in my mind but this actually used that really well and did flow well. I have to say I like looking at the stars so that's maybe why I'm happy :)

I definitely love stars.... And I wish I can hold one in my hands they seem so pretty from above.. I hate the Philippines' s sky today... We can't see the stars because it's raining that is extremely depressing... We are in the months when typhoons visit the country... It's unlucky for us to live near the Pacific Ocean...
