                           The Reality of Life

As a child is born he is innocent and angelic. He repeats what you say and follows what you do. His sweet little acts are a source of joy for the whole family. This is undoubtedly the most cheerful stage of life. As he grows up he learns a lot of things, while most of them are productive others aren’t. He is shown a lot of paths in front of him and has to decide which one to follow. He follows one, then another and quickly realizes that his life is not going in the right direction. This is not what he always wanted to do. He gets depressed and hopeless. He spends most of his life in this misery. Things get very tough for him. He doesn’t know where to go, who to look up to. It is only when he gets old that he realizes the true meaning of life. Perhaps it was the innocence, the purity that was missing throughout his adulthood. He indulged into things which were materialistic, virtual and unrighteous. This is the reason why one goes back into his childhood as he gets old. But by that time it is too late. If only he could go back in time and undo his wrong deeds. Thus it is necessary that we start giving importance to the basic principles of life and stay away from the worldly desires so that we won’t have to contrite for our deeds when we get old and feeble.

Hi Talal, I think you are a natural, you write brilliantly and I could not detect any grammatical errors. Keep writing, this is a solid effort, I thoroughly engaged with your perceptions of this young boy's development and your philosophical stance was mature and enhanced the piece greatly, Well done.

we need a childhood, i had one. kids today grow up too fast and never feel that innocent time.
i am 60 plus years old but still feel that part of me is seven...and running through the pastures in Vermont...never to really grow up.

i wish everyone could keep that child in themselves...

and wish children could appreciate their youthful years and not want to grow up so fast.

i like what this says.

This piece is so realistic that it really hits home. I have so many times wanted to go back and re-do parts of my life. However, I realize that if I did, I wouldn't be who I am today. On top of that, I have my daughter that I need to show a way of life so that she does get a childhood, one that I never got. I don't want her to realize that she has to grow up to soon like I did, because I know that it might hurt her and cause her to do things that I have had to learn from in life already.

I hope taht this piece does reach masses and shows them what they need to learn.

I do too but they might be more like us and determined to learn from thiers and not ours
I really wish I could go back in time and redo a lot of my wrong deeds. However, I can't. And now I'm exactly what you've written about. Hopeless and depressed. It IS the reality of life. I've seen the baby so sweet and innocent to the elder so old and wise. And the in between so corrupted and hopeless.

Sadly, it won't. Corruption is more numbered than the light hearted and caring

This is surprisingly very realistic.

It incites a great deal of ideals and regrets as you read this. The line that hit me the most was "if only he could go back in time and undo his wrong deeds". It expresses a lot of regret just by that line alone.

It's also good to note that it's a very emotional piece as it focuses more on the character's thoughts instead of actions. We rarely see works that focus more on thoughts, ideals and emotions because it would become very lengthy just to express to the reader that specific feeling.

But this is great as it delivered the content so clearly with only a few words.

Great job!

Aloha from Hawaii,

Nice effort for your first piece. I would add that without love, life is meaningless... which is something you appeared to allude to in this thought provoking piece.

A life needs balance in all areas in order for the soul to develop properly. The spirit of man needs live, true love... one that comes from a heart filled with sincerity and honesty.

Along with the balance, it is critical to surround yourself with the right people, those who are like minded...in order to accomplish your heart's desire in life.

Just a few thoughts that came to mind after reading ...

Looking forward to reading your thoughts on my work.

Alisa ;-)
