The Cleansing

The Cleansing

A Poem by Tala Cheyenne

The Winds came
Blowing softly against me
The Rain falling gently
Cleansing me of the Past
Freeing me from the chains that held me
Bound me to the life I once knew
It saddened me though
The fear of losing the memories
But only I can truly decide to release those
Send them floating into that abyss
Freedom
I felt free
For the first time in so long
A weight lifted off my shoulders
Such a beautiful feeling.
I put things away and let them go
And in that moment I began to mend
My heart being put back together
My soul healing.
New beginnings all around
The second chance at life
My life
Cleansed of the Past
Nudged towards the Future
Living in the Present.
