Canvas Filling

Canvas Filling

A Poem by elko
"

A poem on painting.

"
Oh, the joy of putting brush to canvas,
Laying green paints where the land is.
Flocks of birds in skies above,
Giant trees with roots like stubs.
Flowers growing from the ground,
Bushes to hide in all around.
Dabbing my paint brush in various colors,
Squirting more paint in and seeing it sputter.
Letting it dry, finishing up the fun,
I'll frame it up later, for my work here is done.

You painted a picture for me right there.

I wrote something like this once. I love that this piece brought me back to what I wrote. It's a difficult thing to capture nature's beauty in just words, but the aspect of describing a painting you're making and showing a different piece in a poem is really creative, effective, and powerful. Beautiful work :)
