Gone

Gone

A Poem by Tai-San
"

This is for my Best friend. she was gone way too soon and i can deal with no more pain.

"

Gone
Thou art gone,
Now am I.
I can’t hide what I feel,
Though I’ve tried.
I miss thee too much,
Even to my own life.
Now mine shall be taken,
As I cry each moment.

Unable to say goodbye am I,
And I cannot go on,
So now I will say,
We can both be gone.

I refuse to let thee be alone,
Thee were my best friends.
For someone to just tell me thou art gone,
Is my end.

I wont live without thee,
My best friend.
For you are the only one I could truly trust.
I miss you to much to let thee go.
And now shall I be with thee.

The pain you have can be seen through this poem. Calling it a work of art would be a disgrace on what it is meant for, this is a true piece of your soul put onto paper (or in this case website)

This poem speaks from deep down and reading this caused me to really think about each sentence, each word as they fit together perfectly. A poem should come from the heart, well this poem comes from deeper I think, I liked this one a lot

I would say keep up the good work but I hope things like this don't happen more often just to get a good poem like this, I hope the next poem I read from you will be a happy one

Great piece. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I've lost some friends too and I know it's the saddest thing that could ever happen. Kudos, now and forever.

So hard to lose a friend..........my best friend of childhood committed suicide later in life and I still miss her!
It is painful but good to be able to get it out by writing of it.
I have read the other reviews and I agree with those that suggest you change the "thee" and "thou" to modern terms. I use them too, but they just don't seem to be popular today.
Otherwise, your expressions are well stated.

Great emotional poem, didn't like the Thou and thee but I did stuggle to get medievel literature at uni. Keep the writing going it's cathartic isn't it. Most of my ex's died horribly in verse when I was a teenager and when my husband died I found some solace in remembering him through my poetry. I don't post those poems they are mine and mine alone. Poetry should always be for the greater good of the soul don't you think.

I liked this. The only thing I can say is lose the Shakespearean feel to this and keep it more modern. Instead of saying thee, use you. Just my thoughts because it felt more modern day to me. Well done.

what a tragic, yet beautiful poem. your emotions are authentic and I felt it through your words. I would like to express my deepest condolences to you during this time. for your best friend is not gone, in your heart is where your best friend dwells.

Although I've never lost my best friend, I have lost other people dear to me so I can relate to your poem. Writing is a really great outlet for your emotions so please keep it up--!!

I love how you tried to utilize old-style English in your poetry. :) Very nice.

I am sorry about your loss, although nothing I say will alleviate the pain, I can guarantee you that things will get better.

Jasperess, your words cut deep. I can feel pain and offer condolences. It allows the reader to know the person behind the words is writing from the heart. Good job!

I lost my mother suddenly from a car accident and my grandfather said something to us that has always helped me come to peace with my loss. "She is in Paradise now, and happy. We are the ones suffering because we're still here. Rest assure that she is at peace."

I just lost a friend a couple of days ago...again. I know very much, no all to much what it's like to loose people you care about. Whether it's through death or by moving away or by simply no longer being around.
Life can be cruel...but it goes and must go on.
