I really enjoyed reading this, I was a heroin addict, started with smoking it in cigarettes, then chasing the dragon and then injecting it, fortunately listened to the voice of reason and quit a couple of years ago, this poem really captures all that really well, pleasing poison indeed, you really start losing it in quite a short amount of time, try to quit but it's just too difficult to quit and stay off it for good, lacerating arms and all, I've been there, haha, withdrawal is the worst, nothing calms you down, too tired to walk, painful to sit, can't sleep, eat nothing, until the next fix, glad I got off it, anyway, I'm rambling, this is well written.

I find a little baby-like soul trapped in an addicted persons body fluttering to be free, getting angry without any reason and sleeping most of the time, laughing anyway! Your victory over this poison is tremendously appreciated, Am so happy for each person who does so. Thank you for sharing your ramblings, it was a pleasure to hear, Be blessed and smile =)
Visually these lines make the shape of an Iron bomb, such as those which descend from Jets onto cities. literally addiction destroys but metaphorically it is exactly like having a huge chunk of steel weighing on your shoulders and mind every second! So whatever poison that can lift this unbearable weight is definitely a pleasing poison. Imagine not being addicted and consuming some poison of choice! emit the chains, overcome the compulsions of the ego, seek independency of spirit rather than dependency of body, then it is purely inspiring to subject your mind to any poison for a change :) I loved this poem! thank you for sharing...

The shape took place unknowingly while I'd finished writing it halfway then decided to make it how it is now. Thanks so much for your generous words, each inspires me!🍀🌸
I noticed two double meanings in this poem, whether or not intentional.
You meantion "pipe dreams" this could be considered something wanted yet unattainable, or, dreaming of smoking a pipe. It goes well with the theme of addiction.
Then there is "bad blood" which could mean a bad relationship, or, injected drugs in the bloodstream. These two double meanings in your poem take what I'd say is a great poem, and improve on it even more. Thank you for sharing.

Whether it be crack, smack or meth, it is kinda hard to understand why so many people don't know it can be quite moreish and should be left well alone.... Says the guy who smokes weed... Just for medicinal reasons of course 😀
Missed the beauty of the shape for one year.Created a perfect spectacular design without compromising the message on addiction.I am really fond of playing with shapes. Also enjoyed similar shapes with mathematical problems in early books. Finally can't resist the temptation of sharing the famous song of Tagore on the confession about taking poison. It is here:

How could one flourish so much intelligence in oneself. His poem সোনার তরী is my favourite for I can take as many meanings from it as I can, it inspired me a lot in hard times to restart again. Thank you for your generous appreciation, Sir. Hope you're well and safe, Ramadan Mubarak =)

There is a fellow that we pass most everyday
for years his brain was laid away
miserable and unfriendly
a real dud
then he started smoking it in a pipe
and it made his attitude very bright
now he's a fairly pleasant sight
that drugs seem to have made alright
you form/layout is impressive (including poem)
that must have taken some brain squeezing to create
great write

Hey hey hey....Now wait a minute! I swear you didn't know me in 2018 when you wrote this!! Now how did you write this poem so beautifully on me! You hit the bulls eye Tahsin! Hhaha!
On a more serious note, great, impressive vocab once again!
Ordeals of failure constrained him to shut
the shop of sterling virtues residing in his heart
Tis just fantastic, my friend. You seem like a diamond that with a bit of cutting here and there could just dazzle the world. Write on! We need more such poetry!

I shouldn't say this but I found drugs managing some cruel minds very well and for that am thankful to it sometimes. So many thanks to you for your kind words, am blessed! =D
Very thought-provoking! Sometimes in our darkest moments in life we reflect on what brought us there and what we had planned. At the same time, we also look for any way to escape our pain with a facade of pleasure to relax our minds. Then the pain continues to rear its ugly head until we decide to face it. Yet, sometimes we never do.
