Conversation With MotherA Poem by TahjI couldn't wait any longer, I had to tell my mother about my new girlfriend.I couldn't wait any longer to let my mother know of the new lady who had entered my life I was anxious; A bit of happiness coated with thick layers of nervousness. My subconscious kicked in, No need for nervousness it's just a little turbulence. I took one last breath before approaching the woman who I would die to impress Mother I've found myself a sweet honey, she loves me for my poems instead of my non existent money. She replied with That's great son, I really hope she's the one. Don't go around breaking hearts, that s**t is no fun. Treat her with respect, protect her from the sun. Let her know how beautiful she is, treat her like an Angel; She seems like such a familiar Stranger, Love is comfort but it doesn't mean you're immune to danger. I've been hurt before Son, To pain I am no stranger. She had said more than I expected, but I needed to hear it because I had always been unprotected. I wanted mother to be happy for me, and in all honesty no discomfort was detected By me, her opinion was always respected, this was short lived but I had to end this conversation Because I realized that I had left the love of my life alone and neglected.
