for you

for you

A Poem by tafara nyamhingura

Love is cheap so I won't cry for you;
but will cry because of you.
Like a broken art piece, I will wait for you.
Occupying my mind with wishes and dreams.
Rethink it all.

You have got it all; I can see it in your eyes.
A thousand memories of joy but I only wish
for one.

I have been stranded in a forest, and now
I am calling out but you can't hear me.
Pain lives in my chest and drives through my
veins.

I keep running into lions and turning back;
I can't cross the road with the traffic coming from
every direction.

"Pain leaves in my chest and drives through my
vains. " - Did you mean Pain lives ?? also vains should be veins.

The feeling of being lost - having run away and now unable to find the way back - is well communicated here Tafara. The unorthodox structure and the hotch-potch of imagery - one instance in the forest then a busy road - just that adds to the nightmarish scenario that the subject is experiencing.

It good. I Like it. Thanks for sharing. :)
