Have you ever caught yourself drifting into sleep while in a body of water? Whether it be a bathtub, a pool, a pond, or an ocean. To feel yourself become weightless as you are caught in a place where your face is caressed by the warm sun, and your back subject to the calming liquids below you. The stress in your body, all of those aches and pains in your head, chest, legs and feet floating away to dissipate into nothing. Imagine your eyelids getting heavier and unfocused when you feel the negative current of heartache leave your physical form, pulling you into the deep ocean of sleep with a weighted ball strapped to your thoughts.
Then, all of a sudden, a blaze of white flashes above you, wrenching your eyes back open to the blaring light of the sun. You're no longer in the soothing water but floating like a star alongside the sun, as though you yourself were a part of the sky. Your pupils dilate and you whip your face away in shock, blinded for what seemed to be an eternity. Finally they adjust, and now the heat of the sun is bathing your back, and you look ahead to what had been behind you. The sky turns dark and the stars come out to play, dancing and dazzling across a midnight blue cloud of meteor dust. You don't know how big it is, or how small you are, but your breath is taken away and you can't help but fall back into a sense of calm. Varying shades of blue dance through your vision and remind you of the way fire licks away at the ember wood it consumes. Shades of silver and the brightest gold flicker as they weave between the flames of blue and burst into a reddish hue upon reaching the center of the cloud.
You look down to see similar strands of a deep purple mist surrounding your suspended body. The fine dust of the cloud bursts into vibrant colors of red, yellow, orange, and even a transparent pink upon contact with your skin. You follow the tentacles of the colors flowing over your body, until you are gazing upon a planet much like your own, where the source is coming from. A planet shaded in the night to carry a deep violet hue, two suns peaking over the horizon as they set. You wish your body forward to further inspect this mysterious place, and find yourself standing on the surface in the blink of an eye. The last rays of the two suns cast your vision to fields of lush green grass, rolling as far as your vision allows. To your right you see the edge of the forest, and to your left you see an ocean sparkling like diamonds covered its surface.
As the last of the light dies behind the horizon, a transparent blue moon rises on the opposite end. High into the sky, bathing the planet you stand on in a soft breeze, you push yourself back to the center of the starry sky where you began. You slowly turn to see the deep blue cloud once again moving its way around the galaxy you've been swallowed in, and once more close your eyes... to emerge from the water you had used to whisk yourself away from your world. The sleep has left your eyes, and you once more look up to see the clear blue sky of earth, and underneath you the refreshing waves of the water. A cool shift in the wind rolls over your face and you smile thinking of the endless locations you could wander off to next.
